These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Promptalk mobile application ("App", "Service"), provided by Mohsen Rashidi ("we", "us", "our"), an individual based in Darmstadt, Germany. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Promptalk is a teleprompter application that allows you to write, store, and read scripts aloud on your device, with optional voice-tracking scroll, camera recording with visual effects, and a device-to-device pairing feature ("Connect") that allows a second device to mirror and, at your choice, control the same session.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use the Service, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country if higher. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information (in particular, a valid email address) when creating an account.
We currently offer a free trial period of three (3) days from the date of account creation. After the trial ends, continued use of premium features requires either an active paid subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase, made through Google Play at the price displayed in the App at the time of purchase. Prices are shown in your local currency and may change with notice. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; a lifetime purchase does not renew. All billing, renewal, and cancellation of subscriptions is handled by Google Play; please refer to Google Play's Terms of Service and your Google Play account settings to manage or cancel your subscription. Refunds are subject to Google Play's refund policy, over which we do not have direct control.
Device limit. Your account may be signed in on a maximum of two (2) devices at any one time. Signing in on a further device requires signing out of one of the existing two, which the App will offer to do for you at that moment. This limit applies per account, whichever platform the purchase was made on. Accounts shared beyond personal use may be suspended.
Any script, text, or document you create in the App ("User Content") remains entirely yours. Your User Content is stored locally on your device and is not uploaded to or stored on our servers, except when you explicitly use the Connect feature to share a session with a second device you control, in which case content is relayed (and, where technically possible, transmitted directly device-to-device) solely for that purpose and is not permanently stored by us. We claim no ownership rights over your User Content.
The App allows you to import custom font files from your device for use within the App. You are solely responsible for ensuring that you hold the necessary rights, licence, or permission to use any font you import. We do not review, verify, host, or distribute any font you import, and we accept no liability for any copyright or licence infringement arising from a font you choose to import. Fonts that are bundled with the App itself are used under their respective open-source or otherwise applicable licences.
You agree not to use the App to: (a) create, store, or transmit content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or infringes the rights of any third party; (b) attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or another user's account or device via the Connect feature; (c) reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law; (d) use the App in any way that could disable, overburden, or impair its functioning.
The App itself — including its design, source code, graphics, and the "Promptalk" name and logo — is the intellectual property of Mohsen Rashidi and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark law. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or brand features without our prior written consent.
The App relies on certain third-party services to function, including Google Sign-In (for optional social login) and Resend (for transactional email delivery, such as login codes and account notifications). Your use of these integrated services may also be subject to the respective third party's own terms and privacy practices.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for damages arising from injury to life, body, or health, or from intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable German law.
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App if you breach these Terms, without prejudice to any other rights or remedies available to us.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice within the App or by other reasonable means before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the App after such changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding its conflict-of-law provisions. If you are a consumer habitually residing in another EU member state, you also benefit from any mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the law of that state. Where legally permissible, the courts of Darmstadt, Germany shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms.

This Privacy Policy explains how Mohsen Rashidi ("we", "us", "our"), based in Darmstadt, Germany, processes personal data in connection with the Promptalk mobile application ("App"), in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") and applicable German data protection law.

Account data: When you create an account, we collect your email address, and, if you set one, a password (stored only as a secure irreversible hash, never in plain text). If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your Google account's email address and basic profile information from Google.
Device identifier: We generate and store a random device identifier on your device to enforce the free-trial period per device and to prevent trial abuse. This identifier does not by itself identify you personally.
Your scripts and documents: The text you write in the App is stored locally on your device only. We do not upload, receive, or store the content of your scripts on our servers, except momentarily in transit if you actively use the Connect feature to share a session with a second device, in which case content is relayed for that session only and is not retained afterwards.
Voice data: If you enable Voice-Follow, your device's microphone audio is processed entirely on your device using on-device speech recognition. Your voice is never transmitted to us or to any third party.
Technical and log data: Our server automatically records standard technical information (such as IP address, request timestamps, and error logs) for a limited period, for the purposes of security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.
Payment data: If you purchase a subscription, the transaction is processed entirely by Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment card details; we may receive limited, non-sensitive purchase confirmation data (such as subscription status) from Google to manage your account entitlements.
Contact form submissions: If you use the in-app "Contact us" feature, we receive the message you write together with your account email address, in order to respond to you.
We process your personal data on the following legal bases under Art. 6(1) GDPR: performance of a contract with you (providing the App and your subscription), our legitimate interest in operating, securing, and improving the Service, and, where applicable, your consent (for example, when using Google Sign-In).
We share limited personal data with the following categories of recipients, each acting as our data processor or as an independent controller for their own service, as applicable:
— Resend (transactional email delivery, e.g. login codes and notifications) — a US-based provider;
— Google LLC (Google Sign-In and Google Play billing) — a US-based provider;
— Hetzner Online GmbH (server hosting) — based in Germany, within the EU.
Where personal data is transferred to providers based outside the European Economic Area (such as Resend and Google, both based in the United States), such transfers are carried out on the basis of the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or another valid transfer mechanism recognised under Art. 46 GDPR.
We retain your account data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, we delete your account data within a reasonable period thereafter, except where we are required to retain certain data for longer to comply with a legal obligation, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Technical server logs are retained only for a limited period (typically no longer than 30 days) unless needed for an active security investigation.
Under the GDPR, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15); request rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16); request erasure of your data (Art. 17); request restriction of processing (Art. 18); receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20); object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21); and withdraw any consent you have given, at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@promptalk.app. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state of your habitual residence, place of work, or place of the alleged infringement. The supervisory authority responsible for us is the Hessischer Beauftragter für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit (Hesse, Germany).
The App does not use browser cookies. It uses your device's local on-device storage to save your app settings and your scripts directly on your device, so that they remain available to you offline and are never transmitted to us as part of normal use.
The App is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under this age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encrypted transmission (TLS) and secure password hashing. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If you use the App from outside Germany or the European Economic Area, be aware that your data will be processed in Germany and, in limited cases described in Section 4, transferred to processors in the United States.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes within the App before they take effect.

Kontodaten: Bei der Registrierung erheben wir Ihre E-Mail-Adresse sowie, sofern gesetzt, ein Passwort (ausschließlich als sicherer, nicht umkehrbarer Hash gespeichert, niemals im Klartext). Bei Anmeldung über Google erhalten wir Ihre bei Google hinterlegte E-Mail-Adresse sowie grundlegende Profildaten von Google.
Geräte-Kennung: Wir erzeugen und speichern eine zufällige Geräte-Kennung auf Ihrem Gerät, um den kostenlosen Testzeitraum pro Gerät zu begrenzen und Missbrauch zu verhindern. Diese Kennung identifiziert Sie nicht unmittelbar persönlich.
Ihre Texte und Dokumente: Die von Ihnen in der App verfassten Texte werden ausschließlich lokal auf Ihrem Gerät gespeichert. Wir laden diese Inhalte nicht hoch und speichern sie nicht auf unseren Servern — außer kurzzeitig während der Übertragung, wenn Sie aktiv die "Connect"-Funktion nutzen, um eine Sitzung mit einem zweiten Gerät zu teilen; in diesem Fall werden die Inhalte ausschließlich für diese Sitzung weitergeleitet und anschließend nicht dauerhaft gespeichert.
Sprachdaten: Wenn Sie die Sprachverfolgung aktivieren, wird das Mikrofonsignal Ihres Geräts vollständig auf dem Gerät selbst mittels lokaler Spracherkennung verarbeitet. Ihre Stimme wird zu keinem Zeitpunkt an uns oder Dritte übertragen.
Technische Protokolldaten: Unser Server erfasst automatisch übliche technische Informationen (z. B. IP-Adresse, Zeitstempel von Anfragen, Fehlerprotokolle) für einen begrenzten Zeitraum, zum Zweck der Sicherheit, Missbrauchsprävention und Fehlerbehebung.
Zahlungsdaten: Abonnements werden vollständig über Google Play abgewickelt. Wir erhalten und speichern keine Zahlungskartendaten; wir erhalten von Google lediglich begrenzte, nicht sensible Bestätigungsdaten zum Abonnementstatus, um Ihre Kontoberechtigungen zu verwalten.
Kontaktformular: Nutzen Sie die Funktion "Kontaktiere uns" in der App, erhalten wir Ihre Nachricht zusammen mit der E-Mail-Adresse Ihres Kontos, um Ihnen antworten zu können.
Die Verarbeitung erfolgt auf Grundlage von Art. 6 Abs. 1 DSGVO: zur Erfüllung des Vertrags mit Ihnen (lit. b), aufgrund unseres berechtigten Interesses am Betrieb, an der Absicherung und Verbesserung des Dienstes (lit. f), sowie, soweit einschlägig, auf Grundlage Ihrer Einwilligung (lit. a, z. Wir speichern Ihre Kontodaten, solange Ihr Konto aktiv ist. Löschen Sie Ihr Konto, werden Ihre Kontodaten innerhalb einer angemessenen Frist gelöscht, sofern wir nicht aufgrund gesetzlicher Aufbewahrungspflichten, zur Klärung von Streitigkeiten oder zur Durchsetzung unserer Vereinbarungen zu einer längeren Speicherung verpflichtet sind. Technische Server-Protokolle werden nur für einen begrenzten Zeitraum aufbewahrt (in der Regel nicht länger als 30 Tage), sofern sie nicht für eine laufende Sicherheitsuntersuchung benötigt werden.

Die App verwendet keine Browser-Cookies. Sie nutzt den lokalen Gerätespeicher, um Ihre App-Einstellungen und Texte direkt auf Ihrem Gerät zu speichern, sodass diese auch offline verfügbar bleiben und im normalen Betrieb nicht an uns übertragen werden.
Die App richtet sich nicht an Kinder unter 16 Jahren. Wir erheben wissentlich keine personenbezogenen Daten von Kindern unter diesem Alter. Sollten Sie der Ansicht sein, dass uns ein Kind personenbezogene Daten übermittelt hat, kontaktieren Sie uns bitte, damit wir diese löschen können.
Wir setzen angemessene technische und organisatorische Maßnahmen zum Schutz Ihrer Daten ein, einschließlich verschlüsselter Übertragung (TLS) und sicherer Passwort-Hashing-Verfahren. Eine vollständige Sicherheit der Datenübertragung und -speicherung kann jedoch nicht garantiert werden.

Promptalk helps you read your words out loud while looking at the camera, and record a video at the same time. This page explains every part of the app in simple steps. Take your time — there is no rush.
When you open the app, you see a list of all your scripts. A script is just the text you want to read out loud — like a speech, a video script, or notes for a lesson. To make a new one, look for the plus button (+) at the top right of the screen and tap it. To open a script you already wrote, just tap on its name in the list. If you want to delete or rename a script, tap the three little dots on the right side of it, and a small menu will open with those options.
Once you open a script, you can type or paste your text into the big box on the screen. Above it, you'll see a small toolbar. The letter B makes text bold (thicker), the letter I makes it italic (slanted), and the underlined U puts a line under it. There is also a button to change how the text lines up on the page, and a button with "Aa" on it that lets you pick a different font, or even add your own font from your phone. Everything you type is given a title automatically — you can change the title by tapping on it at the top of the page. Don't worry about saving — if Auto Save is turned on in Settings, your writing is saved by itself as you type.
To start reading, open a script and tap the button that says "Teleprompter." Your words will show up big on the screen, and they will scroll upward slowly so you always know what to say next. Tap the round red button in the middle to start or stop the scrolling. There are two sliders near the bottom: one changes how fast the text scrolls (marked "Speed"), and the other changes how big the letters are (marked "Font") — make the letters bigger if they are hard to read. If the text is moving too fast or too slow for you, just tap the pause button and adjust the Speed slider until it feels comfortable. There is also a thin red line across the middle of the screen — this shows you exactly where to look while reading, so try to keep your eyes on that line.
Instead of the text scrolling automatically at a fixed speed, you can turn on Voice-Follow, which listens to you speak and scrolls at exactly your own pace. Look for the small microphone icon near the bottom of the Teleprompter screen and tap it to turn this on. When it's on, if you pause to take a breath, the text will pause too, and when you start speaking again, it will catch up with you. This works even without the internet, because your phone listens to your voice by itself — nothing is sent anywhere.
If you want to record yourself while reading, tap the "Camera" button instead of "Teleprompter." You'll see yourself on the screen with your script floating on top of the picture, so you can read and be filmed at the same time. Tap the big red circle to start recording, and tap it again to stop. There is a button to flip between the front and back camera, a button to pick a color style for your video (like a warmer or more cinematic look), and buttons to turn on helper lines that show you where to keep yourself in the picture. When you're done, your videos are saved to your phone's gallery, in a folder called "Teleprompter," just like any other video you record.
In the Settings tab at the bottom of the screen, you can change things to make the app easier and nicer to use. You can change the app's language, pick a color theme (including a very dark option that is gentle on the eyes at night), and turn Auto Save on so you never have to worry about losing your writing. You can also set a PIN code if you want to keep the app locked when other people might pick up your phone.
The Connect tab lets a second device follow along and even control what you're reading — handy for having a friend hold your phone, or for using one phone as a monitor while you record on another. Tap "Send" on the phone with your script, and it will show a short code and a QR code. On the second phone, tap "Receive" and either type that code or scan the QR — the first phone will then ask you to confirm before connecting, showing you exactly which account is asking. Once connected, open your script and go to the Teleprompter or Camera screen as usual: the second device will show the same thing and can control the same buttons and sliders. Either phone can end the connection at any time by tapping the small red icon at the top of the screen. If you don't have an internet connection, look for a "connect via local wifi" option on the Send/Receive screens — it works the same way as long as both phones share a wifi network or one is using the other's hotspot.
That's alright — everyone needs a little help sometimes. Go back to Settings and tap "Contact us." You can write us a message describing what's confusing, and we will read it and try to help you as soon as we can.
